SCARCE - These diecut "scrapps", were once thought to have been issued by the Scrapps Tobacco Co., but no company existed with that name. They may have got their name long ago because they resemble scraps of paper. Scrapps are diecut, slightly embossed with a shinny surface, and sometimes found with tabs where they were separated from a sheet. There are players from both the St. Louis Browns of the AA, and the Detroit Wolverines of the NL. Scrapps are often found with glue stains on the back. |
