SCARCE - There are only 3 cards featuring baseball subject matter found in this large Cuban sports issue. The date of the issue is not exact but thought to be from 1910-1920. These black borders cards were collected and pasted into an album. The back of these real photo cards have a card number and say "Sports - Postal Para La Coleccion - Del Nuevo - Album Universal - Obsequio De - Susini". The baseball subjects are cards numbered 201, 202, 203, with the card number 202 picturing Tris Speaker at bat. These cards are most often found in a sepia color, but sometimes are found with a scarcer hand tinted color with green grass, blue sky, and skin tones.
Note: The ACC (American Card Catalog) originally listed Central and South American Tobacco issues with an "N", not to be confused with the modern "N" for 19th Century Tobacco. |
